The Poblenou Turisme Responsable project aims to contribute to improving the quality of life of the population living in the Sant Martí-Poblenou District, making it the beneficiary of a new respectful and non-invasive tourism model that improves its economy and helps development and sustainability of their social and business cultural initiatives.
We want to influence the impact of tourism that visits the city, with the aim of facilitating the discovery of the cultural, social and popular heritage of the neighborhoods, and doing so so that the environmental footprint and acculturation is as minimal as possible facilitating that the socioeconomic impact in favor of the local population and the economy and organizations of the district is the maximum possible.
The project is also aimed at public authorities and administrations, entities with responsibility for the management of tourism and those that carry out teaching, insofar as it aims to build a new innovative model of tourism exploitation and management of visitor flows to the city.
Development of experiences of responsible tourism in the vicinity through a process of training, empowerment and co-creation with trade and social and cultural entities of the District. We generate activities and experiences that allow us to discover and value tangible and intangible historical and cultural assets and that generate local growth and employment.
✔ Identification of local social and cultural activities and experiences of potential interest to visitors and tourists.
✔ Organization of Co-creation and Training Workshops to develop TRS products
✔ Creation of new commercially viable tourism products
✔ Development of a marketing circuit for new products and tourist experiences

✔ Generation of social economy, promoting and marketing the tourist activities created
✔ Job creation and growth based on the marketing of the experiences created.
The Project will develop and test a responsible and sustainable model of tourism. It will bring the visitor of the city to the activities generated in Sant Martí and Poblenou and benefiting the whole District. Support is sought for the economic recovery of the area with the marketing and sustainability of new tourism products generated in the vicinity by the local actors themselves. The development of the project improves the quality of life of the population in the area of intervention, generating a new pole of attraction of visitors and tourists that will increase the sales of the local commerce and will put it in value under new parameters. It will have an impact on the economy of local trade, artisan and cultural production workshops and organizations, and cultural and artistic laboratories in the area. The historical and cultural richness of Poblenou, together with the presence of shops based on handicrafts and artistic and cultural establishments make it possible to generate a new model of tourist business that is respectful of its identity and its residents.
The Pilot Project therefore pursues:
✔ Promote the cultural and artistic heritage and the traditional ways of life and characteristics of the area, which require renewed and innovative supports and impulses.
✔ Contribute to highlighting an endangered commercial offer
✔ Generate a positive impact on the economy of the territory, promoting employment ✔ Act preventively with respect to forms of tourism with a negative impact ✔ Inclusion of dynamics of participation, cooperation and collaboration with different agents of the territory.
✔ Generate direct and indirect employment, strengthening trade and local artisans, and the cultural and social activities of the territory, creating a network.
✔ Creation of “sense of place” or community (sense of place) and common space (placemaking)
The people participating in the activities will enrich their cultural and educational experience, improve their image and perspective of the city and value it better. The multiplication of the experience will generate a new type of tourism on the area and on the city based on a responsible and sustainable orientation. In summary, the expected impacts are:
